New Tee Boxes at Wilco

| Sunday, August 03, 2008
The Double R Disc Golf Club has been very busy installing tee boxes at Wilco.  Waterloo helped them some too.

George, Tony and I played a couple of rounds this Sunday morning at 8:00 AM.  We picked a good time.  Later the Double R had their mini and we had to
play around them on several holes.

My roller stopped near the basket at hole #2 for an easy birdie our first round and I just missed a long putt after it rolled long our second round. At least I'm getting comfortable using the roller when tags are on the line.  It's an easy way for me to get under the low tree.

The tee boxes are a lot longer than they areat Old Settlers. There's a possibility that Wilco will be one of the courses in the upcoming Outlaws Tournament in September.

Tony decided to play our second round with his putter and his Buzz for the entire round. He shot a 58 and that's 3 under par. We need to get Tony a job. He's unemployed right now and he plays several courses a day. That makes him pretty unstoppable. Although, Steve got the #1 tee Saturday morning and Jason got #2 leaving him with #3. We had 9 at Pease for three groups of three and a very fun round. Gina was busy and we had a babysitter watching the kids during the morning round so I didn't join the after-round at Zilker.

I shot a 65 and I thought that was pretty good. It's 4 over but the course has gotten a little harder with the new tees returning to the original position. Chris Ware or the Double R said "you don't have to worry about the tee boxes moving on you now." It seems people kept moving those rocks that marked the tee position into closer or more favorable positions.

Tony says the new Brushy Creek course is coming along nicely. It will be a 9-holer first and then expand after that. The new 9-holer at Lakeline is almost ready too.
